How lucky can you be?
I had driven all day from Taos, gotten lost, backtracked from too many miles south of Shiprock, and managed to arrive at Monument Valley an hour before sunset. It knocked my socks off. The scale of the monuments, and those wide-open spaces are an unbelievably powerful experience. I'm looking forward to a return visit.
