Rachel Pettit |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Rachel Pettit has lived in various parts of the western US and recently moved near Salt Lake City, Utah, from South Dakota after a brief stopover in Eager, AZ, where she joined with local artists to paint the White Mountains. Her professional painting career started almost 20 years ago with watercolors, but now she prefers painting “en plein air” (literally, "fresh air") using oil paints on board or canvas. This technique allows her to capture the essence or spirit of the scene in a fresh, spontaneous manner. Her painting companions know Rachel as a warm and gracious lady, a pleasure to paint with.
