Raised in an artist's household in Carmel Valley, I grew up with the process of making art from an early age. Although I explore a range of subject matter, my passion is the landscape of the Southwest, from New Mexico to California, from desert canyons and high mountains to the seashore. I balance my outdoor painting time with painting in my studio and studying for the ministry in Unity. I paint primarily in oils and acrylics, and enjoy other media, too. Commissions are always welcome. To see a 9 ft. commission in progress, click here.
One of the best times to paint in the White Mountains is the fall season, when the aspens turn the mountains a deep yellow gold. When I had Joyous Lake Gallery, I hosted an annual plein air (on location) painting event called "Paint the Aspens," to celebrate that beautiful fall color. I am happy to say that the show has been continued by the Northeast Arizona Fine Art Association beginning in 2010.
"Out of Many, One" was accepted into the "Top One Hundred of Paint America, 2007. The original painting sold at the opening reception. To see more about the contest, go to http://paintamerica.org.
